Advanced Root Cause Analysis
Description: This course teaches advanced technical approaches to performing effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and focuses on group facilitation skills for personnel who will lead RCA sessions. Topics include:
- Using a risk-based approach to focus RCA group discussion to ensure the most critical causal factors are discovered and adequately evaluated
- Ensuring that the RCA follows a "logical" progression - consistency in approach; managing and controlling participant' "off the wall" ideas; staying "1/2 step ahead" of the RCA team
- Developing meaningful actions surrounding further investigation (where necessary) and corrective action development
- Obtaining consensus and dealing with objections
- Leading and maintaining effective follow-up!
Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
Description: This course describes Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and its role/applicability within the continuous process improvement process. Step-by-step FMEA methodology is presented, including documentation mechanisms. The course provides at least two opportunities for FMEA practice relevant to your current activities, and examples of completed FMEAs. All students completing this course will be able to effectively prepare for, participate in, and lead FMEA sessions.
Problem Solving Fundamentals
Description: In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of efficient and effective problem solving and solution identification. This course is designed as a rapid immersion overview of the key techniques, and is recommended for anyone who routinely solves problems. Effective Communication in Teams
Description: Participants will discover how to interact effectively with others in group settings, and how to lead and be more persuasive in working in teams. The course will explore how work behavior affects productivity on the job, and how biases can affect performance, particularly in facing challenges, interacting with people, reacting to change and responding to rules written by others. Most importantly, participants will be able to compare how they prefer to do the job and how they are actually expected to adopt their behavior in the workplace, and the effect this has on themselves and others.
This course includes use of a personal assessment tool which provides objective insights for each participant regarding their unique personal characteristics and strengths. .
Team Decision Making: Leading Effective Teams
Description: These skills are vitally important for anyone working with teams on a regular basis.
By implementing what you learn in this course, you will be able to efficiently plan and facilitate effective decision-focused meetings, influence team decision-making quality, and gain commitment to outcomes and follow-on action plans.
